In the middle of Portugal you can find a little magical valley. Ancient stone structures will remind you that generation have worked this land before, but for decades this part of rural Portugal has been abandoned.

This little patch of magical valley starts at the river and covers a hill with a watermill ruin, an animal shed, lots of trees, bushes, wild plants and brambles.

The valley is attached to the friendly village Benfeita, in Central Portugal. After a beautiful 15 minutes walk you are at the central square of the mountain village. The area is calm, sweet and vibrant.

Else left Magic Valley in June 2019

In April 2018 we (Haico and Else) moved to a yurt on this land, so we could slowly turn the place in an off-grid home, for us and a few visitors. Unfortunately our togetherness has suffered in this adventure and we disagreed too much about how to follow this dream. In June 2019 we decided to go our separate ways. Haico will continue the Magic Valley project and Else will start a new project somewhere else in the area.

Haico will send a NEWSLETTER four times a year to everybody who wants to be updated about his project. Please feel free to subscribe here.
